Purpose:
|
To determine the incidence and risk factors of ROP in premature infants reffered to Rassoul Akram hospital during January 2014-2015
|
|
Methods:
|
In a cross-sectional study,data from premature infants screened for ROP were recorded
|
|
Results:
|
Among 1036 eyes eyes of 518 infants, there were 271(26.2%)eyes with different stages of ROP.Mean gestational age(GA) was 31±3 weeks and mean birth weight(BW) was 1569±52 gr. Univariate and multivariate analysis showed a significant relation between GA,BW and ROP(P<0.0001) .

Conclusion:
|
The majority of eyes with ROP was in stage 3.low birth weight and loo gestational age were independent risk factors in developing ROP.
