This is to evaluate screening method used in Isfahan during 7 Years ago to detect ROP in low birth weight premature infants. The first phase was presented in 21th annual congress of the Iranian society of ophthalmology and this is the second phase with novel results.

More than 5000 infants with less than 35 weeks gestational age and less than 2000g birth weight have been screened with the Retcam Shuttle. ROP patients have been divided into two groups of type 1, Type 2. For type 1 intravitreal Bevacizumab was injected and type 2 were followed up until complete retinal vessel growth.

According to magnificent improvement in management protocol with Retcam, high risk infants were detected earlier and the treatment of choice with IVB was done well-timed. More than 95% of infants showed ROP regression with monotreatment and the others needed laser therapy as well.

During few past years, premature management with Retcam get more popular in Isfahan and related organs such as hospitals and pediatrics become more acquaint with the project. Consequently, the number of survived infants from severe ROP and laser treatment has decreased significantly.
