To evaluate aberrometric changes in corneas in patients with keratoconus 3-month after Myoring implantation.

A prospective interventional study including 16 eyes of 16 keratoconic patients who underwent MyoRing implantation. After three months of follow-up, Uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA), corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA), refractive outcomes, Orbscan finding and corneal abberrations were assessed.

Three months postoperately, the mean UDVA(logMAR) improved significantly from 1.2±0.42 to 0.35±0.18 (p<.001) and the mean CDVA improved from 48±.28 to .24±.12 ( p=.006). There was statistically significant improvement in mean spherical refractive error (from -8.18 ±3.56 to -0.12±2.23, p<0.001).Also, both spherical equivalent and the mean cylindrical refractive error decreased significantly from -10.71±3.56 to -1.33±2.29 (p<0.001) and -5.06±2.24 to -2.42±1.16 (p=0.001) respectively. Also, the mean keratometry value decreased from 54.96±3.07 to 47.84±3.27 (p<0.001). in regard to aberrometry, a statistically significant increase in quatrefoil, secondary spherical was found. No statistically significant changes were detected in total RMS, trefoil, secondary trefoil, secondary astigmatism, spherical aberration. Coma aberration statistically significant decrease(p=0.002). Low order aberration(defocus and astigmatism) and secondary astigmatism decreased significantly postoperatively.

Myoring implantation provided significant improvement in UDVA, spherical equivalent, keratometry results, coma aberration and low order aberrations. However, it was not effective in decrease of HOA.
